It seems that the Gentlemen of the Armoury are all fans of whiskey. My first introduction to whiskey came in the way of the Four Horsemen and late nights at Karaoke taking cheap mixes of Johnny walker. Fast forward a few years and I got my first taste of a beautiful blend of Jamesons Irish whiskey. It gave me the first taste of whiskey that had complexity beyond getting drunk. I had 2 or 3 bottles of Irish whiskey in the kitchen at all times then. Funnily enough, it took a Japanese whiskey, the Yamazaki 12 and 18 year olds to catch my attention and divert it towards single malts and the unique characteristics of the different distilleries of Scotland.
In the past year, my friend Kevin has been introducing me to the world of single cask Whiskeys. This is the world where we can taste the choices of famous independent bottlers who select the finest, unique & excellent, of the single malts.
As we continue our love for clothing at the Armoury, I hope we’ll be able to grow as well in the search of great whiskeys with our friends and of course in the accompaniment of great music.
